I also often notice too much horse noise sound effects and they irritate me every time...Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10514757286127622644noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8782167599693788794.post-48525384078206269912012-01-31T11:55:15.716+00:002012-01-31T11:55:15.716+00:00As an antidote to unnecessary neighing you really ...As an antidote to unnecessary neighing you really should watch 'Young Frankenstein'. There is a running joke in that film about Frau Blucher the housekeeper, in that any time anyone says her name, all the horses neigh in fear.

We had a horse once who would neigh incessantly if left alone, even for five minutes. We used to amuse ourselves in a very childish way, attempting to time our 'Frau Bluchers' with his neighing.Sue Howesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8782167599693788794.post-45414100911694423102012-01-31T09:32:13.705+00:002012-01-31T09:32:13.705+00:00All that horse noise is very stallion-y isn't ...All that horse noise is very stallion-y isn't it? Like the rearing. There is a lot of rearing in War Horse. I can see why you get horse noise in radio, as otherwise how are you going to know there is a horse? Though having said that, Shula does a lot of patting and "Good boy!"

Meg - thanks for the repost! There were some things that irritated me so much in the film I had to edit them out in order to carry on watching, and "Joeeeeeeee" was one of them. And the Albert character's intonation, which was horribly similar to the same character's in the play. The scene where Albert is reunited with Joey made me cringe with embarrassment; so much so I couldn't watch it and closed my eyes.Jane Badgerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02628233623713926723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8782167599693788794.post-73687112289879983482012-01-30T22:22:53.290+00:002012-01-30T22:22:53.290+00:00Oh JOY! Gag-eeee.

Not that I ever had the slightest inclination to see the film, but i do like to have my prejudices confirmed. I often notice inappropriate horse noises, as you say. The excitable snorting often heard on films seems to be that of a stallion in the presence of an on-heat mare. Horses just don't do that all the time! It amuses me as much as all the "Whoah, there, steady, boy"ing whenever a horse appears in The Archers.Linda Newberynoreply@blogger.com
